TANDEM Cultural Program: Gran Via Madrid
June 1, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm CEST

This week on “Madrid Districts” within our TANDEM Cultural Program, we’ll visit Madrid’s Gran Via. It is one of the liveliest streets of the Spanish capital. Some call it “the broadway of Madrid” due to various theaters and cinemas it has. In addition to movies, musicals and variety theater, it is also an important shopping district, with many shops, especially in the fashion industry. And of course there are several bars where you can get good tapas.
More than a street, the Gran Via is a symbol of modernity in Spain, and a means of connection between different points of interest in Madrid, linking the Alcalá street, near Plaza Cibeles and the Plaza de España.
It is very close to the Puerta del Sol and TANDEM school, so we can go there walking to enjoy an evening of tapas, at the same time we learn a little about some curiosities of the history of Spain.
If you want to know a little more about this lovely street, you can see the article about the Gran Via in Madrid in Wikipedia.
