In this excursion we are going to visit the monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial is an architectural complex located in a city with the same name\, which also includes a royal palace\, a basilica\, a cemetery and a library. It was built in the sixteenth century by order of King Philip II\, and has served as a residence of the royal family for several times. The basilica\, guarded by the monks of the Order of St. Augustine\, serves as a burial for many kings of Spain. \nIt is a very interesting place for sightseeing because in addition to its historical and artistic importance\, it is in a region with great natural wealth\, near the park of the Sierra de Guadarrama\, in the north of Madrid. \nIn this half-day excursion to El Escorial\, we can enjoy a day with nature\, reliving for a few hours the splendor of Spain in the sixteenth century\, through one of the most important architectural complexes in the country. \nMeeting point: At 9:30 a.m. at the Moncloa bus station\, platform 1\, dock 9. It is a linear park of more than 1 million m2 that runs parallel to the Manzanares River. It has a huge recreational and cultural offer that delights everyone. The kids have a great time in its more than 17 children’s playgrounds made of sustainable materials. \nAdults enjoy in its open space circuits\, boules courts\, gaming tables\,and the Centro de Interpretación del Río Manzanares (Center dedicated to the Nature and History of the Manzanares River).
