TANDEM Cultural Program: “Cool Neighbourhoods” Lavapiés: The Most Multicultural Neighborhood

Lavapiés is one of the most colorful and multicultural neighborhoods in Madrid. This lively neighborhood is located near the center of the city, between Puerta del Sol and Embajadores. It has numerous bars, restaurants, and entertainment establishments of various types, offering sensations from all continents of the world, and a very lively nightlife. The interesting thing about this neighborhood is its own personality since there is such a fusion of cultures that the neighborhood has a varied and picturesque aesthetic.

In this activity, we will make a tour around the neighborhood of Lavapiés making some stops in the bars to have some drinks. We will pass by the cultural centers of the Tabacalera and the Casa Encendida, places where shows and events of avant-garde art are presented. Also, we will take a walk through the San Fernando Market. In short, a very broad and typical neighborhood of Madrid that leaves no one who passes by indifferent.
