In the past it functioned as a center of social and political life of the cities\, as well as element of urban organization\, where converged the major streets and roads. Currently\, the main squares in Spain are important tourist and leisure\, especially with restaurants and bars. \nThe same applies to the Plaza Mayor of Madrid\, which for its central location\, close to the Puerta del Sol\, is one of the essential attractions of the Spanish capital.
