In this excursion we are going to visit the monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial is an architectural complex located in a city with the same name\, which also includes a royal palace\, a basilica\, a cemetery and a library. It was built in the sixteenth century by order of King Philip II\, and has served as a residence of the royal family for several times. The basilica\, guarded by the monks of the Order of St. Augustine\, serves as a burial for many kings of Spain. \nIt is a very interesting place for sightseeing because in addition to its historical and artistic importance\, it is in a region with great natural wealth\, near the park of the Sierra de Guadarrama\, in the north of Madrid. \nIn this half-day excursion to El Escorial\, we can enjoy a day with nature\, reliving for a few hours the splendor of Spain in the sixteenth century\, through one of the most important architectural complexes in the country. \nMeeting point: At 9:30 a.m. at the Moncloa bus station\, platform 1\, dock 9.
