TANDEM Cultural Program: visit to El Rastro Madrid

El Rastro is the most famous flea market of Madrid. It takes place every Sunday (plus some holidays), in the traditional neighborhood of Lavapies, near the center of Madrid. All Sunday mornings the Ribera de Curtidores street and neighboring streets are filled with stalls selling a wide variety of products, such as food, crafts or clothes. In addition to street stalls, bars and restaurants in the area offer a variety of dishes and tapas.

To reach El Rastro, the best option is the public transport.

Line 3: Embajadores station
Line 5: La Latina or Puerta de Toledo station

Bus lines: 17, 33, 35, 41, 60, 148 and Circular

You can also go walking from the Puerta del Sol and other parts of central Madrid.
