Special Cineforum Carlos Saura, Film “Ay Carmela”.

Carlos Saura was one of the most internationally recognized Spanish film directors.
He began making films in the context of the Franco regime, criticizing it without the censorship noticing. His films were characterized by the symbolism and bravery of his criticism.

Last February 10, he passed away and in TANDEM we want to pay him a nice tribute, sharing with all of you the viewing of one of his most popular films, “Ay Carmela”, which tells the story of a group of comedians who, during the Civil War, end up by mistake in the nationalist zone, where they end up being prisoners. Their only way to save themselves is to perform a show for a group of soldiers that clashes with the values and ideology of the comedians.
