Not only will you learn Spanish, but you’ll be surrounded by people your age while you spend the summer in the Sierra de Guadarrama, one of the most beautiful natural places in the Community of Madrid.
The program is designed for boys and girls between the ages of 12-15, and it lasts for a minimum of two weeks. During this time you will enjoy the small, quiet and charming town of the highest cultural value, San Lorenzo de El Escorial. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and only 50 kilometers away from Madrid.
The Spanish Course for groups in El Escorial is an academic program which takes place between June and August; it consists of 4 classes every day of 45 minutes each, for a minimum of 2 weeks. The course takes place in a very special place: the Real Colegio Alfonso XII de los Padres Agustinos, a school located in the famous Royal Site of San Lorenzo del Escorial.
The school has classrooms, library, dining room, swimming pool, sport fields and a game room. Concerning your accommodations, you will live inside the school, in a dormitory for students, in rooms for two, three or four people, with shared bathrooms and all meals included. You will also have laundry service.
As studying is not everything in life, TANDEM Madrid has prepared an interesting cultural program that takes place in the afternoons and evenings. You will be able to participate in many different activities, always in Spanish. For instance, you will enjoy a guided visit to the Royal Site of San Lorenzo del Escorial, a visit to an Environmental Education Center, a visit to the Prado Museum of Madrid, picnics, sport activities, games and workshops.
In addition, you will have the chance to discover more Spanish geography thanks to the planned weekend trips. Every Saturday there will be a trip to another historically and culturally important place such as Segovia, famous for its aqueduct and its alcazar, the monumental city of Toledo, or the city of Avila, known worldwide because of its walls and for being the native city of Santa Teresa de Jesús.
The cultural program of the Spanish Course for groups in El Escorial includes 1 activity every day in the afternoon or evening, and 1 weekend trip.
